Two weeks ago, the people of Maui voted in favor of a moratorium on genetically engineered organisms. Native Hawaiians tend to be overwhelmingly against genetic engineering of food crops for scientific, sustainability, and cultural reasons. Wherever you stand on the issue, Leeward Community College and Hālau ʻIke O Puʻuloa graduate Shawn Kahoʻolemana Naone invites you to experience the power of protest in his Ka ʻUmeke Kāʻeo award-winning photographs, Olowalu – The Power of Many Voices.
