Shawn Kahoʻolemana Naone is a photographer who specializes in photos with a distinctly Hawaiian point of view.  His photos have won numerous prizes and recognition, including a Ka ʻUmeke Kāʻeo Native Hawaiian Writing and Arts Achievement Award for his photo interpretation, Maui Lassos the Sun.  To celebrate the 5oth anniversary of the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival, April 2014, Pūpū A ʻO ʻEwa Native Hawaiian Writing and Arts proudly shares a gallery of his work, Hula, the Heartbeat of the Hawaiian People.
