Elsie Moʻi Peters Itutaua

Moʻi Itutaua hails from Lualualei on the west coast of Oʻahu. Doing some genealogy work led Moʻi to consider a career as a Hawaiian Studies teacher. She graduated from Leeward CC and plans to attend the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa for a bachelorʻs degree in secondary education (to cover her passion for writing) and then a masterʻs degree in Hawaiian Studies of Hawaiian language.

Her poems – including Summers in Mākaha, Nānākuli, and Playing with Waves – often pay homage to the places she holds most dear.
