A Gift for my Ancestors

This piece is to honor Haumea and her daughter Hina. In essence it is to honor the female elements of creation in the environment and in all of us.

The kapa is a gift to my kūpuna. Our “well” ancestors really just want the best for us, they want to see us succeed and feel their support. It also symbolizes repair and healing for my kupuna that have come before me that were not able to heal from the heartbreak, loss and tragedy that we all face in life as I work on healing it for myself.
