Hailing from Salt Lake, O’ahu, Shawn Kaho`olemana Naone is a non-traditional student and a member of Hālau ‘Ike O Pu’uloa at Leeward CC.   He received his first camera a year ago and hasn’t looked back.  The owner of Makawalu Photography, he says photography helped him grow in a whole new facet of life.  He loves to see things from different angles, particularly cultural angles, and how everything is affected.  His photography has a distinctly Hawaiian point of view.  Best of all, his photography has helped him learn about his culture, and he’s glad to share and teach others.  The haumana, then, becomes the kumu.
