In this beautiful mele aloha, Ku’u Lawakua, Lahi Vegas pays tribute to her great-greandmother, Kahaulahilahi, who was the matriarch of the family.  A strong Hawaiian woman who promoted traditional values, Tūtū was revered for her wisdom and love.  Named after her great-grandmother, Lahi is a graduate of Leeward CC and is studying Hawaiian Studies at the University of Hawai`i at West O`ahu.  She is fluent in Hawaiian, having grown up in a household that spoke the language and having attending Hawaiian language immersion school.
