Camille Nicolucci

Camille Nicolucci is a student at Leeward CC.  She dreams of a career as a dietician, so she plans to transfer to UH-Mānoa to further her studies.  Camilleʻs poem is Kahealani, which won an honorable mention in the Ka ʻUmeke Kāʻeo Native Hawaiian Writing and Arts Achievement Awards.  Written with her beloved mother in mind, the poem speaks of the lessons Camille learned growing up on Molokaʻi – to mālama ʻāina, to respect her elders, to work in harmony, and to do what is pono no matter what others may be doing.  She is a delightful young woman, and Pūpū is pleased to publish her work.
